The Golden Tigers swept the visiting Etowah Blue Devils on Saturday night 3-0 and 5-1, sending RHS into a home semifinal matchup with the Ardmore Tigers.
Cody Greenhill (10-2) dominated the Blue Devils in game one, setting a playoff career high with twelve strikeouts. The win improved his career playoff record to 11-1 and his overall career record to 37-9. He also broke the single season school home run record with his sixteenth of the year, which also leads the entire state.
Chad Wray (7-3) also pitched an outstanding game in game two, also striking out twelve batters on the evening.
Judd Ward picked up his 200th career hit in game two with a double in the first inning.
The semifinal series between Russellville (34-9) and Ardmore (23-13) will be played on Thursday night at 4:30pm and 7:00pm. If a third game is necessary, it is penciled in on Friday at 5:00, but that might change because of rain chances at the end of the week.
