The RMS Golden Tigers traveled to Moulton to take on the Lawrence County Red Devils on Thursday night. After trailing 22-14 at halftime, the Golden Tigers were able to tie the ball game up on Gabe Amick’s thirty yard scramble for a touchdown and a two point run by Nathan Brockway.
The game winning drive was set up by Trey Glass’s interception and return to midfield. Amick hit Airreon McCulloch on a screen pass from the 30 yard line, and McCulloch broke several tackles on his way to the endzone with 27 seconds left. The two point conversion failed.
The Lawrence County runningback busted a run up the sideline with no time left on the clock, but Brockway was able to track him down to end the ball game.
Amick had two first half touchdowns to McCulloch and Brockway.
The Golden Tigers (1-1) return to action Tuesday at home versus Winfield. The 7th grade team will kickoff at 5:30pm, and the 8th grade team will follow.
