Russellville Golden Tigers Varsity Fights Back In Loss To Austin

Russellville Golden Tigers Varsity‘s effort to come back from down five runs in the third inning came up just short, as they fell 7-6 to Austin on Thursday. Russellville Golden Tigers Varsitymanaged five runs in the failed comeback. Houston KittermanBrock MaloneJaret WardRudy Fernandez, and Landon Ezzell each picked up RBIs.

Russellville Golden Tigers Varsity was right in it until Austin singled in the eighth inning.

Austin got things started in the second inning when Sam Olinger drew a walk, scoring one run.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, Russellville Golden Tigers Varsity tied things up at six. Ezzelldrew a walk, scoring one run.

Russellville Golden Tigers Varsity scored three runs in the fifth inning. Russellville Golden Tigers Varsity offense in the inning was led by WardFernandez, and Ezzell, all driving in runs in the frame.

Austin totaled nine hits. Sam Watkins and Jackson Landers each managed multiple hits for Austin.

 

Russellville Golden Tigers Varsity Defeats Austin Despite Allowing 3-Run Inning

Despite allowing three runs in the first inning, Russellville Golden Tigers Varsity defeated Austin 11-4 on Thursday. Austin’s big inning was driven by singles by Sam Watkins and Screws.

In the first inning, Austin got their offense started. Watkins drove in two when he singled.

Russellville Golden Tigers Varsity pulled away for good with five runs in the third inning. In the third Houston Kitterman singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run, Devin Buckhalter doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs, and Caden Parker singled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.

Parker was the winning pitcher for Russellville Golden Tigers Varsity. He surrendered four runs on six hits over four and two-thirds innings, striking out four. Tanner James threw two and a third innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Nichols took the loss for Austin. He allowed six hits and seven runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out five.

Russellville Golden Tigers Varsity hit two home runs on the day. Landon Ezzell went deep in the first inning. Rudy Fernandez had a dinger in the fourth inning.

Russellville Golden Tigers Varsity collected 14 hits on the day. EzzellFernandezKitterman, and Brock Malone all collected multiple hits for Russellville Golden Tigers VarsityKittermanFernandez, and Ezzell all had three hits to lead Russellville Golden Tigers Varsity.

Austin racked up eight hits in the game. Watkins and Screws all managed multiple hits for Austin. Austin was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Jake Smallwoodhad the most chances in the field with eight.
