Boys Varsity Baseball · Baseball Clinches Playoff Birth with Area Win over East

The Golden Tigers baseball team clinched a spot in the AHSAA playoff on Tuesday night by defeating East Limestone and Brooks’s losing to Lawrence County.  If RHS beats East on Thursday, then the Golden Tigers are once again area champions.  A loss to East and a Brooks win over Lawrence County will make RHS the runners up, putting them on the road for the first round.  A Brooks loss automatically makes Russellville area champions.

Russellville Golden Tigers Varsity Beats East Limestone By Seven Runs

Russellville Golden Tigers Varsity coasted to an easy victory over East Limestone 8-1 on Tuesday

Russellville Golden Tigers Varsity opened up scoring in the first inning. Brock Malone drove in two when he singled.

Russellville Golden Tigers Varsity tallied four runs in the sixth inning. Houston KittermanTom Barkley Scott, and Hunter Briles each drove in runs during the inning.

Landon Ezzell earned the victory on the pitcher’s mound for Russellville Golden Tigers Varsity. He lasted seven innings, allowing four hits and one run while striking out 16 and walking one.

Stevens took the loss for East Limestone. He went five innings, allowing four runs on five hits and striking out five.

Scott led Russellville Golden Tigers Varsity with two hits in four at bats.
