Girls Varsity Basketball · Groce named Head Girls Basketball Coach


Russellville City Schools is excited to announce Jermaine Groce as the new head girls basketball coach at Russellville High School. This will be Coach Groce’s 8th year overall with the Golden Tigers. He received his bachelor’s degree in Collaborative Special Education (K-12) from the University of Alabama in 2010. Coach Groce has been apart of the Russellville Basketball program throughout his career at RHS. He is married to Cassy Groce. She is currently employed at Russellville Hospital. Coach Groce and Cassy have two sons; Malaki, who is in the 5th grade at Russellville Elementary School; and Austin, who is 3 years old.

Superintendent Health Grimes stated “Coach Groce has played a prominent role in the football and basketball programs at Russellville High School. Jermaine is a high energy leader that has a great work ethic.  I am excited to see Jermaine put his stamp on the program and be the driving force behind achieving his vision for the girls basketball program”.
 “Coaching at my alma mater is special because I’m a product of this great community and school system. It’s an honor and a privilege to work as the Girls Basketball coach at RHS and inspire the next generation of student-athletes to accomplish the impossible. The history of excellence here at RHS helps to create a unique culture and expectation of winning. That motivates me every day to strive to become the best coach I can possibly be in order to give each athlete the very best opportunity to become a champion” stated Coach Groce.
