Tennis Has Strong Showing at State Tournament

The Golden Tigers tennis teams competed in the state meet on Monday and Tuesday of this week.  The girls team finished 10th overall in 5A. Boys Tennis Advances to State Tournaments

The boys tennis team is the Seciton 8 runner up and will be participating in the state tournament on Monday and Tuesday of next week. Number one singles Caleb Mayfield is the singles champion.  The doubles team of Mayfield and Charlie Chard are also section champions. Congrats men!

Boys and Girls Tennis to Host Sectionals on Monday

The Golden Tiger tennis teams will host the sectional tennis tournaments on Monday, April 17.   Boys number 1 Caleb Mayfield is undefeated in sectional play.  Also, the boys doubles team of Caleb Mayfield and Charlie Chard is undefeated in sectional play.  For the girls, Rebecca Parrish and Elyse Strickland are undefeated in sectional play

Track Results: Russellville Invitational

On Tuesday, the Golden Tigers track and field team hosted its first meet in two years at the newly renovated Golden Tiger Stadium.  RHS competed with Deshler, Central-Florence, Mars Hill, Lexington, Colbert County, Vina, and Cherokee. The varsity boys team earned a total of 110 points and finished 2nd in the meet behind Lexington.  The

Today’s Tennis Match vs. Fayette County Postponed

Today’s boys and girls tennis matches versus the Fayette County Tigers has been postponed until Thursday.  The matches will begin around 2:15pm. Stay tuned to Golden Tigers Athletics for weather delays and postponements.

Strong Showing at State for RHS Tennis, Including Doubles Champ

The Golden Tigers were well represented in this year’s AHSAA Class 4A-5A Tennis Championships. Overall, the boys’ team finished fifth behind UMS-Wright, Trinity, LAMP, and Randolph with a score of 31. Jake Williams and Levi Hargett won the #2 Doubles State Championship by defeating UMS-Wright’s #2 doubles team.  The match went three sets with scores
